3 Ways To Dress up Your Hot Tub This Halloween
Fall-scented candles, pumpkins and mums on the porch, fall foliage painting every tree in brilliant shades of gold… autumn is officially underway! Is decking out the house for fall and Halloween one of your yearly rituals? If so, do you carry the vibe to your hot tub? We recommend it! There’s no better place to be on cool autumn nights than chilling in your hot tub, and seasonal décor will definitely add a festive ambiance to your evening. Need some ideas? Here are 3 ways to dress up your hot tub this Halloween.
Pick a “Costume” Theme
You can’t go wrong displaying any of your favorite Halloween decorations around your spa, but if you’d like a cohesive look, pick a theme.
- Graveyard: Fake tombstones around your cabinet, a liberal application of cobwebs, and perhaps a skeleton hand or two will transform your hot tub oasis into a spooky graveyard
- Wicked Brew: A smoke machine, some fake eyeballs floating in the water, and a broomstick standing nearby can turn your hot tub into a cauldron. If your hot tub has the option, you could switch the LED lights to green, purple, or orange, too.
- Acid Bath: Set the lights to green (or add floating/submersible green lights) to your spa, wrap your hot tub’s cabinet with yellow caution tape, and set up a large, “Danger – Acid” warning sign.
Have Fun with Lighting
The rest of the year is for pretty twinkle lights, candles, and tasteful lanterns. Halloween, though, is your chance to use funky, festive lighting. Hang a purple string of bat-shaped lights. Have a pumpkin carving contest. Then, add flameless candles, and let your army of grinning or ghoulish pumpkin faces light the night. Or, draw simple “ghost” faces on white paper lunch bags, place a small battery-operated light in each one, and line your patio with them.
Add Spooky Sounds to the Night
Spotify® and Pandora® both offer Halloween-themed playlists this time of year. Or, you could play the soundtrack from one of your favorite scary movies on your Bluetooth® speaker. Not into spooky music? There are plenty of fun, non-scary options available, too. Build a custom playlist with hits like “The Monster Mash” by Bobby Pickett or the “Purple People Eater” by Sheb Wooley. Take a look at this list by Good Housekeeping for more ideas.
Movies are a great idea, too! Play a Halloween classic on your Hot Spring® Spas Wireless Monitor or use sheets to DIY an outdoor movie screen so you can watch from your hot tub. Younger family members can watch the show while playing in the yard, if they want. Check out this DIY Outdoor Movie Screen tutorial from HGTV.
